The records your Bitcoin clients need, from the vault itself

You don't need to become a Bitcoin expert to remain the expert your client already trusts.

The questions clients bring to their accountant

  • What was my Bitcoin worth on 30 June?
  • What will the SMSF auditor ask to see?
  • How do I show every transaction for the year?
  • Who holds the keys for the fund or company?

A partner in the room, not a replacement

Peter Dunworth

You know your client. We know Bitcoin security.

When Bitcoin comes up, bring us into the room. You keep the relationship and your advice. We look after the Bitcoin security: how it is held, who can sign, and how it passes on.

Tell us about your next Bitcoin-related client enquiry, and we will talk it through with you.

Peter Dunworth, Partner. Estate planning and generational wealth transfer. Guiding families since 2016.

Who controls the Bitcoin

  • Only the client can initiate a transaction. Two of the three keys must approve it before Bitcoin can move.
  • TBA is a co-signer within the client's structure, not a custodian. No single party, TBA included, can move Bitcoin alone.
  • Recovery and succession follow the wallet configuration and the procedures the client has authorised.

The people you work with

Advisers who work with professionals and their clients.

  • Peter Dunworth. Estate planning and generational wealth transfer. Guiding families since 2016.
  • Dalia Platt. Bilingual bitcoin security and inheritance for families and their advisers across the Americas.

What TBA can supply, and what stays with you

From TBA, with the client's authority

  • The Annual Statement of Position: the reporting period, aggregate and vault-level balances, transaction history, TXIDs, movements and running balances.
  • Supporting materials for attribution, where relevant.
  • Verification without private keys or recovery words, and without weakening the vault's security.

With you and the auditor

  • The valuation policy and the market data it uses.
  • The tax position, the accounts and the returns.
  • Whether the evidence is sufficient and appropriate, which is the auditor's judgement.
